One lapsed license. One day you can't run inspections. $525 gone.
State inspection licenses don't send you a warning when they expire. Neither does your shop management software.
For a shop doing 15 inspections a day at $35 each, a single lapsed technician license shuts down that revenue stream instantly. Reactivation in Massachusetts takes up to 24 hours. In the meantime, customers go somewhere else.
And that's just one compliance item. Your shop is tracking:
- —State inspection licenses (per technician — renewal cycles vary by state)
- —ASE certifications (A1–A9, renewed annually)
- —Lift inspections (every lift, every year, per ANSI/ALI standard)
- —EPA Section 609 MVAC certification (anyone servicing A/C refrigerant)
- —Hazmat generator registration (EPA fines up to $70,117/day if this lapses)
- —Business license and state dealer/repair license
Right now, you're tracking all of it in your head, a spreadsheet, or not at all. Tekmetric doesn't track it. Shopmonkey doesn't track it. No shop management platform does.
“I don't like how there is no date box for State inspections, this piece of information is vital to shops that have state inspections, and our marketing companies need to be able to see these upcoming dates and send out reminders — this is a huge loss leader and I hope they fix it soon.”
Your compliance co-pilot tracks it all — and tells you before anything lapses.
Pre-loaded for your state.
Select your state on signup and BayReady already knows the renewal cycle, issuing body, and renewal URL for every applicable compliance item. You don't research it. You confirm it.
One dashboard for every certification across your shop.
Every technician, every piece of equipment, every facility license — in one view. Color-coded by status: current, expiring in 90/60/30 days, or expired. Open it and know exactly where you stand in under 10 seconds.
Automated email alerts at 90, 60, and 30 days before anything expires.
Reminders go to you. For technician-specific items like ASE and state inspection licenses, reminders copy the technician directly. No chasing. No forgotten renewals.
$29/month, locked for life.

Built because this problem doesn't have a real solution yet.
BayReady is being built by an independent founder with a background in software and a frustration with the compliance gap every shop owner lives with.
Every major shop management platform has the same gap: there's nowhere to track certification expiration dates. Shop owners manage it manually — or don't manage it at all — and find out a license lapsed when a tech shows up to work and can't run inspections.
The founding member spots exist because BayReady isn't finished yet. The first 25 shops will have a direct line to me during development. Your setup frustrations and first questions are exactly what should get built first.
If you've ever had a tech's license lapse — or if you're quietly worried it could happen — this is for you.
Questions
What is BayReady?
BayReady is a compliance co-pilot built specifically for independent auto repair shops. It tracks every technician certification, equipment inspection, and facility license — and proactively alerts you before anything expires. Pre-loaded state-specific rules mean you don't research renewal cycles. You confirm them.
When does BayReady launch?
Phase 1 — the core product — goes into development after founding member spots are filled. Founding members are onboarded first, manually, with a direct setup call. Expect access within 60–90 days of claiming your spot.
What happens after I pay?
You'll get an email immediately confirming your founding member spot. Within 24 hours, you'll hear directly from the founder with one question: "What compliance item are you most worried about right now?" Within the first week, you'll receive an invite for a 20-minute onboarding call to get your shop set up. You're not waiting for a product launch — you're part of building it.
What's the difference between founding member pricing and regular pricing?
Founding members get the Pro plan ($59/month at public launch) at $29/month, locked for life. The price never increases for founding members regardless of what BayReady charges new customers. This offer closes permanently at 25 shops.
What states are supported?
BayReady is launching with Texas, California, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan — plus federal certifications (ASE, EPA 609, lift inspections). Pre-loaded rules for all 50 states are coming in Phase 2. Founding members get full access as each state ships.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If BayReady isn't what you needed, email within the first 30 days for a full refund. No forms, no hoops.
I use Tekmetric or Shopmonkey. Does BayReady replace it?
No — and it's not trying to. Tekmetric and Shopmonkey run your shop. BayReady handles the compliance piece they don't. Your shop management software stays where it is. BayReady is the layer that keeps you legal.
